Schema (2025)
96" x 80" x 105"
Schemata are cognitive shortcuts, a conglomeration of all your experiences as they relate to a concept, forming your interpretation of that existence or thought. In the process of creating a schema, one generalizes content, losing bits and potentially cementing nonexistent memories into your mind. This work recreates a schema of my home city, speckled with thoughts of mine and memories of seemingly random happenstances.
To interact, a person stands in front of the projection and walks in place to move forward in the world. To turn, they tilt their shoulders left or right.
